The nodes should have the following specifications (approximately you may not be able to match them perfectly use your judgment)
More than 20 CPU cores
256 GB of memory
12 x ~4 TB SAS/SATA SSD's (solid-state disks)
Enterprise Remote Management (Dell calls this Enterprise Drac or remote access via Azure/Aws/Google Cloud Platform
3 years of 4-hour support
2 x 10/25 Gbps Ethernet adapters
I recommend getting a quote from an online store such as Dell (www.dell.com (Links to an external site.)), SuperMicro, HPE, or Lenovo. (Dell will be the easiest but not the least expensive).
You can generate a quote using their hardware configuration tools. By customizing a server such as an R640, R704, or R740XD you will be able to create a quote for the servers.
I have expanded the instructions for configuring a server (based on Dell's site). These should help make sure everyone gets to the correct page.

Notes: You may never have done anything like this before and you may wonder why would a BA perform this task. The answer is you need to be able to communicate your needs to both management and Information Technology. A failure to be able to make a general recommendation can prevent you from purchasing the best service or even a working service.
Assignment Requirements:
Each student must write a 2-3 page paper (double spaced) describing the history of hosted servers aka cloud computing and include their proposed on-premises and cloud solutions along with their recommendation solution.
