Website Redesign: Classic Elegance

Job ID: 40470673

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I’m giving my current site a visual refresh and the entire brief can be summed up in three words: classic, elegant, timeless. The content structure and functionality are working well, so your mission is purely design-focused—no need to rebuild the backend, just elevate the look and feel. I have two websites - one for my private practice in counseling and one for the books I author. I don't need a website for the books I author. However, I would like to have the color scheme match and have a "director" to send clients to the authoring website. I should have the color-scheme by the end of this week. Here’s what matters most to me: • Typography – refined, readable type that adds sophistication without sacrificing legibility (not overly decorative or "flowery"). • Imagery – carefully curated photos or illustrations related to counseling that reinforce a high-end, heritage-inspired tone. • Color scheme – a balanced palette that feels luxurious, pairs well with ample white space, and supports strong visual hierarchy. Additional details: - Include my photo in the design. - Add verbiage about me being an author with a five-book series; note that the first book will be available next month. - Open to suggestions from the freelancer on how best to link to my authoring website (e.g., button, hyperlink). - Content should remain relatively unchanged but can be restructured based on designer recommendations. - Preference for WordPress or Adobe platforms due to familiarity; however, freelancers may use their preferred tool if they are open to providing future updates as needed. You’re free to work in Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or the tool you’re most comfortable with as long as the final hand-off includes layered source files and responsive desktop-tablet-mobile variants. Align headings, body copy, and accent styles consistently, apply appropriate spacing, and double-check contrast ratios. Acceptance criteria: 1. Complete homepage and one inner-page mock-up delivered for review. 2. Up to two rounds of visual revisions included. 3. Final assets packaged and ready for dev hand-off (fonts, color codes, imagery licenses, and style guide). If you have a portfolio that shows similar classic or heritage-influenced web work, I’d love to see it and get started right away.
