Web Design and UX multy platform (weather business)
Budget: €1,500 – €3,000 EUR
Ours is a company (Italy) that operates in the meteorology market applied to boating with a subscription business model that sees its latest stylistic revision dated 2017. Over the years, competitors have taken over in the meteorology market who have taken great care of the user experience and aesthetic design. The basic idea is to provide the user with a multi-platform, applied to meteorology, which includes the nautical sector, the one related to the winter mountain and the summer mountain.
The intention is to take care of the UX and the design trying to align and unify the three products as much as possible so that the user's ability to navigate our products is optimized.
With the aim of reducing the distance between a technical product and the practical use that the user must make of it, iconographies and graphics useful for the 'humanization' of the product have been introduced which should be placed within the reference area (vector files will be provided). The weather icons need a unified aesthetic reinterpretation for the three products (we will provide a csv file with the weather labels on which to build the icons).
The icons relating to services, professional services, objects, etc. must also be developed and must be homogeneous in style starting from those already present in the platform dedicated to boating.
The multi-platform is developed through the Django web framework, and the frontend consists mainly of pure JS, using Mabpox GL JS as regards the development of the cartographic part.
Currently, the synoptic section, which contains the tables with the meteorological data, is developed through dash, a server-side technology based on python, integrated with Django. For this section we are eventually open to new proposals, in case it is complicated to manage the styling through CSS.
In general, the restyling of the mountain and sea sites is required, trying to unify the style between the two, unifying the user experience and brading across all static areas of the site, maps, tables / graphs.
The specifications and functions to be developed are summarized below:
• Common components: navbar, sidebar, footer
• User profile page
• Login / register / logout area
• Error pages: 404, 500
• Static pages: home, services, faq, blog, ...
• Multi-language management
• Dark theme
• Map: controls (toggle on / off), information (legend, credits,…), timeslider
• Map: popup on markers with weather information and metadata, with the possibility of interaction / choice (different altitudes, different times of the day, ...)
• Synoptics: tables, meteograms, UX for searching for areas and navigation
• Synoptics: conditional formatting, legend and weather icons
Graphically, we need icons and images for the following components:
• 69 different weather codes ("clear", "variable", "rain", ...)
• weather variables ("average wind", "gust of wind", "temperature", ...)
• Services icons, professional services
• Object icons ("ski area", "refuge", "chairlift", ...)
We work according to CI / CD criteria, so we can foresee the insertion of single features as soon as these are available.
For this reason, we ask you to structure the estimate in a modular way, so as to facilitate the creation of a time schedule.
