Project Overview
Project Name: Health Road MVP
Deliverables: Two fully designed Figma pages (Home Page and Psychologist Pathway)
Background
Health Road is a healthcare navigation resource designed to help healthcare consumers understand and access mental health services in the Northern Rivers region. It provides clear, factual information about mental health pathways, professionals, and costs, but not health advice.
Information Architecture Needs
I need significant help with the information architecture of this website. The content is information-heavy, and I want to ensure it's organized in a way that doesn't overwhelm users. I'm looking for guidance on:
- How to structure content hierarchies
- Best ways to progressively disclose complex information
- Intuitive navigation patterns for healthcare information
- Effective organization of the pathway information
- User flow optimization between sections
While I have a basic user flow diagram, I'd appreciate expertise in refining this structure to create the most intuitive experience possible.
Design Requirements
For the MVP/version zero, I will start with two main pages, designed in Figma:
1. Home Page
- Purpose: Entry point with clear navigation paths
- Key Components:
-Header & Footer
-Prominent navigation question: "What would you like help finding?"
-Three pathway options displayed prominently:
- Professional Selection: "Which mental health professional is right for me?"
- Getting Started: "How to get started with mental health care"
- Costs: "Understanding costs and Medicare"
-Crisis support option should be easily accessible
2. How To See A Psychologist Page
- Purpose: Detailed information about how to access a psychologist (under professional section in user flow)
- Key Components:
* Clear navigation back to main menu
* Key sections to include:
- How to access a psychologist (Medicare pathway and private pathway)
- Typical costs and Medicare rebates
- Accordion-style expandable sections for detailed information
- Related links to other professionals (psychiatrist, counselor)
- Next steps guidance
Design Style Guidelines
- Overall Feel: Clear, simple, helpful, non-clinical, approachable
- Color Palette: Open to suggestions
- Typography: Highly readable, accessible fonts
- Layout: Generous white space with clear visual hierarchy, not busy
- Components: Use accordions and expandable sections to manage information density
