Web Application for Organizing and Managing Digital Media
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
Project Brief: Web Application for Organizing and Managing Digital Media
Overview
We are looking for a talented UI/UX designer to create a web application that allows users to efficiently organize and manage their digital media. The focus of this project is to develop a walking skeleton of the application, excluding certain features such as login, user registration, landing pages, and about pages.
Project Goals
The primary goal of this project is to build a functional web application that allows users to organize and manage their digital media effectively. The application should be intuitive, visually appealing, and optimized for a smooth user experience.
Resources and Relationships
There are three major resources that the web application is concerned with:
1. Files: Top-level media pieces that hold digital media such as images, videos, and animated GIFs. Available data: List of Posts, list of similar Files, list of tags.
2. Persons: Top-level resource that points to multiple Files, establishing a relationship between a person and the associated media. Available data: List of Files, Persons Alias, metadata (this is a list of key value fields such as; DOB 1990-01-01 etc)
3. Posts: Belong to a File, with each File having N posts. Available data: posted time, title, various metadata (this is a list of key value fields such as; )
It is important to note that not all Files are associated with a person, and duplicate Files may exist (e.g., two Files with the same image but stored in different formats like JPG and PNG).
Current Pages
The website/web application currently consists of five pages:
Gallery: A page for browsing and exploring the digital media.
Media Viewer: A page for displaying media in a larger, more detailed view.
Upload/Add Media: A page that enables users to upload or add new media to their collection.
Persons Gallery: A page showcasing individuals associated with the digital media.
Create Person: A page where users can create a new person and associate them with media.
Design Guidelines
* Intuitive Navigation: Ensure the user can easily switch between pages and access different functionalities with minimal effort.
* Consistent Layout: Maintain a consistent and coherent layout across all pages to create a unified experience.
* Media Focus: Highlight the digital media content to be the main focal point of the application.
* Efficient Organization: Design intuitive methods for users to manage and sort their media, such as categorization or tagging options.
* Mobile First Design: The application should be designed for use exclusively on a desktop computer and as such can ignore mobile and tablet restrictions.
* Visual Appeal: Create a visually appealing interface that complements the nature of digital media.
Deliverables
The UI/UX designer will be responsible for providing the following deliverables:
Wireframes: Low-fidelity wireframes for each of the five pages to visualize the layout and structure.
Mockups: High-fidelity mockups illustrating the final design for desktop and mobile views.
Additional Information
Please note that this project aims to create a walking skeleton, focusing on core functionalities and omitting features like login, user registration, landing, and about pages.
