About us
We are a UK digital health / SaMD startup building a clinic and pharmacy ecosystem platform (web app + product UI).

Project overview

We already have our core logo, icon and primary colours defined. These are fixed.

We also have a draft brand guidelines deck covering:

Mission and positioning

Logo, colours and typography

Accessibility notes

Early UI components

Brand voice

Developer references

There are two components to this project:

The core brand guidelines document

A UI/UX-specific brand guidelines layer focused on forms, assessments, patient feedback, safety and related flows

We now need a strong product / UI designer to refine and complete the system so it feels like a modern, credible digital health product, and to feed that back into the actual UI.

Some of the current UI components and screens need changing, enhancing or fixing. Colour usage needs a full review, and we need better in-context examples (for example real screens, forms and states) that developers can follow.

You must review the attached brand guidelines draft before applying so you understand the current state and gaps.

Scope

Review our existing deck, including:

Brand identity, logo and icon usage, current colour definitions

Accessibility / WCAG notes

Existing digital components and examples

Current developer handover notes

Build out and finalise:

Extended and neutral palettes, with states and usage rules based on our existing colours

Dark mode palette suitable for clinical UIs

Accessible colour combinations in line with WCAG (including states, alerts and notifications)

Tighten guidance for:

UI components (buttons, forms, inputs, tables, alerts, navigation, modals, charts)

Component states (hover, focus, disabled, error, success, warning, info)

Layout, spacing, grids and breakpoints

Brand voice for patient vs clinician vs pharmacy audiences (tone and examples)

Technical specs for developers (design tokens, CSS variables, spacing scale, typography scale)

UI / UX brand layer for clinical workflows:

Define clear UI/UX guidelines for forms, assessments, patient feedback flows and safety-critical screens

Specify patterns for error handling, confirmations, warnings and consent in clinical contexts

Ensure these patterns align with the overall brand system and accessibility requirements

UI polish / application work:

Audit the current portal UI and identify components that need fixing or aligning with the system

Update or redesign key components where needed (within the existing logo and core colour constraints)

Create a small set of real product screens as reference (for example dashboard, patient view, prescription flow, key forms and some mobile screens, all based on our wireframes) showing correct use of colours, typography and components

Ensure colour usage, hierarchy and interaction states are consistent across these examples

Deliverables

Updated brand / UI guidelines deck (PDF and editable source, ideally Figma)

UI/UX-specific guidelines for forms, assessments, patient feedback and safety-related flows

Clear colour and component usage rules tailored to our SaaS product UI

Defined design tokens (colour, type, spacing, radius, elevation) and developer-ready specs

Enhanced UI portal component examples and 3–5 key screens showing the system in context

A short list of specific UI fixes and improvements we should implement next

Requirements

Strong experience in brand and product / UI design for SaaS or digital health

Confident building full design systems around an existing logo and core palette

Comfortable working with complex, data-heavy or clinical interfaces

Familiar with accessibility and digital health standards (e.g. WCAG, regulated healthcare UX is a plus)

Able to produce concise, practical guidelines that designers and developers can apply directly

Solid Figma skills (or equivalent) and experience handing over to engineering teams

How to apply

Please include:

Confirmation you have carefully reviewed the attached brand guidelines draft

A brief intro and relevant experience (especially healthtech or SaaS)

1–2 examples of brand or UI guideline work (links or screenshots)

A fixed price for this project and your expected turnaround time

Applications that do not confirm review of the attached guidelines will not be considered.
