Proposed Pub Development – 15m x 15m Indoor with

1. Project Objective
Design a modern, functional pub structure of approximately 150m² indoor floor space, with an additional outdoor entertainment/seating area. The layout must allow seating for 100 patrons (majority inside), include a bar, stage for performances, storage, and comply with local building and safety codes.
Two restrooms behind the building, not inside. (1 male, 1 female – each with 2 stalls)
2. Design Requirements
a. Indoor Space (15m x 15m = 150m²)
• Seating for 60–100 patrons (mixed tables & chairs, stackable/flexible)
• Bar counter area (min. 3m–4m length) with back-of-bar prep & fridge storage
• Stage (approx. 4m x 3m) for live music and events
• Storage room (approx. 6–8m²) for alcohol stock, cleaning material
• Efficient flow between bar, seating, and stage
• Lighting, power outlets for stage/bar
• Natural ventilation and ceiling fans or extractors
b. Outdoor covered Extension (~100m²)
• Covered or semi-covered seating area (30–40 people)
• Smoking-friendly section
• Optional braai/firepit area
• Outdoor lighting and security
• Optional window hatch from bar to serve outside
3. Construction & Materials
• Brick walls with modern finish
• Corrugated roof with no ceiling
• Sealed concrete or anti-slip tile flooring
• Simple modern aesthetic – functional, durable, and easy to clean
• Secure entry/exit points with emergency egress
4. Compliance & Considerations
• Local health and liquor license compliance
• Fire exits, extinguishers, signage
• Disability access to entrance and toilets
• Acoustic insulation near residential area
