Refreshing Patient Brochure Designs Needed
Budget: $8 – $15 USD
Design Brief: Healthcare Brochure Design
Project Overview
We are seeking a professional graphic designer to redesign three patient information brochures for a hospital. These brochures contain important health information for patients preparing for surgery. The content is already finalized (in Norwegian), but we need a professional design that is both compliant with our hospital's design guidelines while being fresh, inviting, and patient-friendly.
Deliverables
Three separate but visually consistent brochure designs:
"Prehabilitering" (Pre-surgery nutrition guidelines)
"Tobakksfri" (Tobacco cessation information)
"Fysisk aktivitet og trening" (Physical activity recommendations)
Format: A4 folded brochure (print-ready for double-sided printing and folding)
Source files in editable format (Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, or equivalent)
Print-ready PDF files
Design Requirements
Create a unified visual template that can be applied to all three brochures while allowing for subject-specific customization
Design must comply with our design guidelines (we will provide brand colors, logos, and typography requirements)
Incorporate appropriate illustrations, icons, and infographics to support the text
Organize content in a clear, logical flow with proper hierarchy for easy reading
Design should feel fresh, modern, and inviting – avoiding the typical clinical/institutional feel of medical literature
The design should be accessible and easy to read for patients of all ages
Include appropriate space for hospital logo, contact information, and QR code
Content Focus
Prehabilitering Brochure:
Focus on nutritional guidance before surgery
Include sections on protein intake and meal suggestions
Design nutrition-related icons/illustrations
Tobakksfri Brochure:
Information about quitting smoking/tobacco use before surgery
Timeline illustrations showing health improvements after quitting
Supportive and encouraging visual elements
Fysisk Aktivitet Brochure:
Exercise illustrations showing proper form for recommended exercises
Visual explanation of exercise intensity levels
Timeline/process graphics showing benefits of pre-surgery activity
Target Audience
Female patients preparing for surgery, spanning different age groups and backgrounds. The design should be accessible to all, with sufficient contrast, readable font sizes, and clear visual hierarchy.
Timeline
As soon as possible
Selection Criteria
Portfolio demonstrating experience with healthcare/medical design
Understanding of information design and visual communication
Ability to create accessible, patient-friendly designs
Experience with print production requirements
Additional Notes
We will provide the complete Norwegian text content
We have preliminary wireframes/layouts that can serve as a starting point
The final design should be easily adaptable for future brochures in the same series
Please include samples of your previous work with healthcare clients or information design projects in your proposal.
