Product Design Engineer – Biomimetic Pediatric MedTech (Safety & Compliance Focus)

We are a Canadian-based startup, Squish-Wish, developing a disruptive, first-of-its-kind infant soothing system. We are moving from a finalized technical roadmap into the MVP (Minimum Viable Product) and prototyping phase.
We are seeking a highly skilled Product Design Engineer with specific expertise in Medical-Grade Silicones (LSR) and fluid-filled assemblies to help bring our vision to life.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Canadian Regulatory Expertise: Deep familiarity with Health Canada’s Pacifiers Regulations (SOR/2011-184) and the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA).
- Material Science: Experience working with high-performance elastomers and thermal-conductive fillers.
- Mechanical Engineering: Expertise in hermetic sealing, fluid dynamics within flexible membranes, and overmolding processes.
- Manufacturing Ready: Ability to create production-ready CAD files for ISO-certified manufacturers.
Project Scope:
Reviewing existing technical specifications and refining the internal architecture for manufacturability.
Managing the transition from digital design to a functional, high-fidelity prototype.
Ensuring the design meets all Canadian safety benchmarks (Bite tests, pull tests, and ventilation requirements).
Confidentiality:
This project is currently in stealth mode with a patent strategy in progress. All candidates must sign a Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before any technical blueprints or specific product mechanics are disclosed.
