Poetry Book Layout & Art- The Soldier Poems

'The Soldier Poems' is a collection of poems I have written about soldiers and the impact of war on them and their families. It is written in tribute to my father who was a soldier in WW2.

I’m preparing a small, carefully curated collection of fewer than twenty poems written for an adult audience and I’d like each piece to sit alongside an equally evocative image. The visual direction I have in mind is simple yet striking—artistic graphics that don’t clutter the page but leave a memorable impression.
Here’s what I need from you:
• A unified cover concept that sets the tone for mature readers
• Clean interior layout that lets the verse breathe while integrating your artwork seamlessly
• Original, high-resolution illustrations—minimal in detail but powerful in mood—to accompany each poem. No AI generated images, they must be human created.
• Print-ready PDF plus an e-book file (EPUB or similar) so I can distribute both physically and digitally
Typography, spacing, and colour choices should all support readability and amplify the emotional weight of the poems rather than compete with them. If you have experience blending poetry with understated visual storytelling—whether in InDesign, Affinity Publisher, or another professional tool—you’ll fit right in. I’m happy to discuss page sizes, trim marks, and any other production details once we connect.
