Photoshop Project
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
design a cover for a periodical, an event poster (movie or other theatrical event; concert, play, stand up or improv show, etc.) or the packaging for a commercial product. These may be imaginary or redesigned versions of existing advertisements. Bring together your photo collage skills learned from the first project and add in adjustments, blending modes, layer styles, filters, graphics and text to make the best image possible within the time allotted. You will have from 3/24-4/02 to complete this project.
When you have completed this project you should save it as a multi-layered PSD and then flatten your image and save it as a JPEG. Y
Please send this JPEG file to me no later than Wednesday, April 2nd -at midnight* to receive credit for completion. Late work means a point deduction unless you are granted an extension, in which case it will be due by noon on 4/7.
You will present the PSD layered image to the class for critique on Wednesday, April 2nd.
These are the following requirements for the project:
Use at least one layer style, be it a drop shadow, a stroke border, an outer glow or a pattern fill etc. -10 POINTS
Use one at least one blending mode, be it overlay, multiply, darken, lighten, vivid light etc. -10 POINTS
Include type with your design in its own layer.-10 POINTS
Include additional type of a different size, color and/or font. -10 POINTS
Incorporate at least one photo or digital image (it can be a picture you took yourself or one from creative commons) as a focal point. - 10 POINTS
Add a filter effect: any of the artistic or blur filters, a lens flare, the liquefy or puppet warp effects to warp facial features, or a high pass layer combined with an overlay blending mode to add contrast. -10 POINTS
Create a layer mask and use it to hide a portion of one layer while revealing something beneath that layer, or a clipping path (option+command+G) to insert image information into a selected area in a sub-layer. -10 POINTS
