Hours : 9am-6pm approx.
Rate : €150 p/d

Job Overview: We are seeking a graphic designer with proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Canon Scan, and Microsoft Word (all on iMac) to assist in the production of x1 regular issue and our 2024 Annual. The successful candidate will be responsible for checking and organising advertisements, creating print-ready PDFs, and preparing various creative assets for the Annual.

NB *This role is an in-office role, located at our office on Lower Baggot Street, Dublin 2.

Key Responsibilities:
• Ad Production:
o Review and process advertisements as they come in with help from the Production Manager.
o Create PDFs of ads (Full Page, Half Page, Quarter Page).

• Competition Pages:
o Crossword Puzzle (updating grid and clues).
o Spot the Difference (updating with provided cartoons).
o Caption Competition (selecting photos and updating content).

• Cartoon & Illustration Management:
o Scan, review, clean up, colourize, resize, and prepare cartoons and illustrations for various sections
(Funnies Pages, Bog Cuttings, Epitaphs, Full Page & Half Page Toons, and Front Section Cartoons).
o Ensure proper naming conventions and attributions for cartoonists.

• Page Layout:
o Assist in the layout of special feature pages (e.g., Arts Feature Pages) and any additional design
requirements.
o Work closely with the production team to ensure deadlines are met.

• Skills Required:
o Proficiency in iMac, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, CanonScan and Microsoft Word.
o Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
o Creative and pro-active design mindset
o Ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
o Experience with print production is an asset but not essential.
