App Store Icon Design

Overview:
We need a modern and visually appealing icon for our mobile application, which will be published on the App Store. The design should be scalable, clean, and aligned with modern app icon trends.

Requirements:

1. Style & App description:
- App allows users to add various custom widgets to their device home screen. The theme of the icon should be Widgets for iOS.
- App name is WidgetLabs, maybe this branding can find a place in an icon.
- The icon should have a modern and minimalistic design.
- It should be recognizable and memorable, reflecting the core theme of the app.
- The icon should look good both at smaller sizes (e.g., notification icons) and in larger promotional materials.

2. Format:
- The final deliverable must be a vector file (preferably .svg or .ai), as well as PNG exports in the required sizes (listed below).
- Final icon should have the minimum size of 1024x1024 pixels.

3. App Store Requirements:
- The icon must follow the App Store guidelines, which include a 1024x1024 pixel square format with no rounded corners. The corners will automatically be rounded by the App Store upon upload, so do not apply corner rounding yourself.
- However, for previews and mockups, please apply rounded corners to simulate how it will appear in the store.

4. Color and Contrast:
- Use a bold color palette that ensures visibility and distinctiveness on the App Store.
- The icon should look good in both light and dark system modes.

5. Sketch Variants:
- Please provide 3-4 sketch variants of the icon for initial review, showcasing different
concepts, layouts, and color schemes. This will allow us to select the best direction
for the final design.

5. Inspiration/References:
- We like the idea of using simple geometry and gradient colors in the icon. However,
avoid designs that include too many elements (e.g., four rectangles), as they can be
harder to remember and less visually appealing.
- Feel free to experiment with incorporating the app's brand name into the icon,
possibly using a flask to symbolize the "lab" concept.
- Reference icons in similar categories or competitors' apps, but ensure the design is original and distinct.

Icons we do like are in project files.
