Map creation
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
We are looking for a graphic design professional who has experience with making map related graphics. This will be displayed as a graphic in a word document report.
We want a graphic that shows all of Washington, with the upper ~20% of Oregon also shown. It should take up half of an 8.5"x11"page (when viewed in portrait mode). The name of each state should be shown, and the interiors should have light colored shading/texture, somewhat similarly to what is shown on the map on this page (https://pnwhydrogenhub.com/about-the-project/). Major cities should have labels that are readable, and major water features should be colored light blue.
We also want four red boxes drawn around the following locations: Moses Lake (WA), Umatilla Chemical Depot (OR), Mint Farm Generating Station (WA), Cherry Point Refinery (WA). The box interiors should be unfilled, but should be sized large enough, with thick enough borders and bright enough coloring to be easily visible. Text labels next to the boxes should show the names of these places in black (without the state abbreviation).
We also want yellow stars near the red boxes. These should be sized smaller, and should have the interiors filled in with yellow. There should be 8 yellow stars at the following locations: Hermiston Generation Station, the data center shown here https://baxtel.com/data-center/aws-lewis-and-clark-east-campus, the Mint Farm Generation Station (the star can be inside of the red box), the BP Cherry Point refinery (the star can be inside of the red box), the Whitehorn Generating Station, the REC Silicon facility (3322 Rd) near Moses Lake, another star south of the Moses Lake airport at approximately the GPS coordinate (47.179715045195465, -119.30519732442227), and another start south of that one at approximately the GPS coordinate (47.16804000796714, -119.30503529768016).
We would appreciate your design intuition on how to display the information described above in the most aesthetically pleasing and easily readable manner.
