I own and run hottubcoverspot.com and my competitor is https://thecoverguy.com/ - We recently redid our website and I want to create and informative, colorful, bright and engaging lead magnet and down load guide. All of this things you spoke about in your pian points above (insulation, foam, taper, structure vinyl verse Weathershield, etc) along with FAQs and a buyer's checklist etc. Would be great. Also maybe a section about cover lifters, and other accessory items I would likely use some of the content for the website as well, so we can look at it a blue. I don't want it to be too technical but also was it to be informative and easy to understand.
I am open to idea and thoughts. If you want to write extra content that can be used on the website but is too much for the guide that works too. I want to be informative and a quick read; not a book about buying but rather a guide and outline that makes sense to anyone who hasn't purchased one before. Measuring tips, pros and cons, materials, foam, taper, accessories, FAQ's etc. I want to be something of substance and I want people to trade their email address for it.
I would like the color pallet to resemble our website. I just want it to be informative and accurate and engaging as discussed

And while I am not looking to rip the cover guy off completely, I think their knowledge base and support pages in the footer in particular are well laid out and thoughtful. This is the kind of content I am looking to add to the guide and the website in addition to the "pop ups" for each of the steps.
