Islamic Classical Books: KDP Interior & Cover Design x 2

Project Scope: Islamic Book Design & Production
Please read and respond carefully specfically - copy and pasted standard responses will be ignored.
I am seeking a creative and innovative designer who can bring my books to life—not simply copy and paste text into Adobe InDesign. I need someone who will provide proactive design suggestions, fresh ideas, and inspiration throughout the process.
Project Overview
>> I have two completed manuscripts (with a third in progress), each circa 300 pages of B&W text.
>> Manuscripts are available in MS Word (.docx) or PDF format.
>> Books require layout for Amazon KDP at 6 × 9 inches, for both print and eBook editions.
>> Future publishing plans include InstaSpark and Lulu.
Interior Design Requirements
>> Clean, readable layout with professional typography and consistent styling.
>> Include:
- Running heads
- Page numbers
- Chapter openers
>> Ensure compliance with KDP guidelines for file size and ink coverage.
Fonts & Styling
>> No fixed type palette yet—I welcome your recommendations for body and heading font combinations. I am currently using Minion Pro as main typeface.
>> Special considerations:
- Quranic verses (ayah) in Arabic using KFGQPC Hafs Uthmanic Script.
- Ahadith (sayings of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him) using Traditional Naskh.
- All transliterated Arabic words (including names) will include diacritical marks eg īmān, zakāh
>> I need guidance and inspiration on elegant, professional layout for these elements.
Cover Design
>> Full-colour cover (front, spine, back) based on KDP’s current template.
>> I will provide:
- Title
- Subtitle
- Author name
- Back-cover copy
>> You will provide creative layout, typography, and art direction.
Deliverables
1. Interior PDF at 600 dpi, with correct margins, bleed, and embedded fonts.
2. Full-colour cover PDF on KDP template for 300-page black-and-white interior.
3. Source files.
4. Assistance with file submission to Amazon.
What I Need From You
1. Accurate quote for both books.
2. Samples of similar work (experience with Islamic books is a bonus).
3. Estimated turnaround time and any clarifying questions.
I am ready to start production immediately.
