Interim Graphic Design Consultant
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) is seeking a talented Interim Graphic Design Consultant to support our Communications Team for a three-month period with the option to renew after the initial three months. As the Interim Graphic Design Consultant at KIND, you will assist in the creation of KIND branded materials that promote our mission-driven organization as a leader in protecting immigrant and refugee children. You will play a crucial role in advancing our commitment to defending the rights of every unaccompanied child at every step of their journey to safety. As part of KIND's Digital Team, you will work closely with KIND’s Graphic Design Manager and play a crucial role in maintaining KIND’s brand on all digital and print materials.
Responsibilities:
Design Creation: Develop and produce graphic designs for digital and print media, including both internal and external PowerPoint slide decks, flyers, website graphics, newsletter, fact sheets, learning guides, reports, and event materials.
Brand Consistency: Ensure all designs adhere to KIND’s brand guidelines and visual identity.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Graphic Design Manager to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality designs that meet specified objectives.
Content Update: Assist in updating and refreshing existing design assets to maintain current and engaging content.
Feedback Integration: Incorporate feedback from team members and stakeholders to refine and improve designs.
File Management: Organize and maintain a library of design assets for easy access and use by the team.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in related field, Graphic Design. Illustration, Communications and Marketing.
2-3+ years of experience in implementing and growing a brand and experience with designing layouts, graphics and illustrations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective internal and external communication.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, particularly in coordinating with internal teams for synchronized digital efforts.
Required experience in: InDesign, Illustrator, Canva and Microsoft PowerPoint.
Preferred but not required experience in: After Effects, Flourish, Figma.
Proficiency in Spanish preferred but not required.

Part-time, 20hrs per week
