Humorous Memoir Cover Illustration
Budget: ₹750 – ₹1,250 INR
I’m getting ready to publish my memoir, “Watch the Testicles: Memories of a Male Nurse,” and I’d love a Perth-based illustrator who can give the cover a playful, cartoonish touch. The book is a reflective yet cheeky chronicle of my fifty years in nursing, so the illustration has to lean into wit first, but still feel warm and professionally finished.
Here’s the direction I have in mind:
• Illustration focus: a light-hearted scene or character moment that hints at the daily comedy of life on the wards—funny without ever slipping into crudeness.
• Style: clean, cartoonish line-work with colour; think approachable rather than slapstick.
• Tone: clever and witty, with subtle nods to the seriousness of caregiving beneath the humour.
I can supply draft concepts, tone notes, and a chapter summary to help spark ideas. In return, I’m hoping for:
1. Initial roughs (2–3 sketches) so we can agree on the visual direction.
2. A polished full-colour front cover illustration sized for standard trade paperback (plus bleed).
3. Final files supplied as print-ready PDF and layered PSD or AI for any future touch-ups.
If you have availability over the next few weeks and a portfolio that shows a knack for character-driven humour, let’s chat about timelines and your rate structure. I’m keen to lock in the right artist and move straight to sketches.
