High school book design/typography/cover/layout - independant publishing
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
Looking for a creative graphic designer to help inject some life into a high school maths study guide.
The book is a summary of the most important formulae and methods covered in high school and is meant to be used as a quick reference book while studying for an exam or doing homework. The book is divided into 14 chapters, each focusing on a topic with cross references to other topics. Roughly 120 pages, A5.
We have an illustrator on board as well to create figures/characters for the book. Want it to look like a lot of thought was put into the design. Open to old school design styles (art deco etc.) but happy to consider a wide range of design ideas. Mostly looking for something unique but functional.
What we are looking for:
- We don't want it to feel like any old school text book, fun but not childish.
- Good choice of fonts. Needs to be very legible and the formulae need to stand out. Want to have fun with it in terms of having annotated notes everywhere. Almost as if someone has made comments along the way.
- Needs a cover page.
- Update existing diagrams and graphs to match overall design of the book.
- Cohesive colour scheme
