Graphics design for a course description

I have a 3-page course description that needs to be made more visually attractive. I have attached the updated text, and a mock up that we liked very much to give you an idea of what we are looking for. What we did not like about the mock-up were the blurry graphics, and the look of the logos (maybe a clear background would be better? Or put them on a white banner across the top?? I will provide the vectored logos.
