Fantasy World Map Creation
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
For this project, I need a creative and experienced map designer who is adept at creating fantasy-style world maps. The design should:
- Lay out a world map using the existing lore I will provide.
- Use a fantasy approach to the design. You should be comfortable with creating maps that are not bound by the constraints of realism.
- Incorporate specific icons indicating different towns and cities. This should be done in a manner consistent with the fantasy style of the map.
- Include icons for geographic landmarks. These could include things like mountains, rivers, valleys, and so forth.
Understanding and experience in cartography could be an advantage, but what's more important is a knack for fantasy design and a keen attention to detail. If you're the kind of freelancer who can take some lore and turn it into a captivating world map, I want to hear from you.
Attached is a (poorly done) copy of what I’ve been working with. It’s obviously lacking a lot of detail, and it’s meant to be an expansive continent, not a forest and a mountain range. The only lore/details that need to stay are cities and relative locations to geographical landmarks. I’d like the map filled in with *more* mountains, forest, lakes, rivers, etc.. Preferably the continent looks very different at the end. The naming scheme for towns has been translating words into Russian (Ex: Capital of Freland (Free Land) is Svaboda (Rs: Liberty)).
