UI & UX Designer for Database & Timesheet System
Budget: $750 – $1,500 AUD
Are you a driven designer eager to make a real impact in a growing business? At T.M.J. Tutoring, we’re looking to engage a talented UI & UX Designer for a dynamic project involving the front-end design of our new timesheet, login, and database system, with the possibility of future design improvements for our main website. You'll work collaboratively with our back-end developer on this project.
We’re also potentially interested in connecting with a Graphic Designer with a strong web focus, who could bring their creativity to this project and potentially beyond.
T.M.J. Tutoring is a Melbourne-based startup co-founded in 2021 by Angus Molden and Tyler McDonald (both 23). Over the past four years, we've developed a highly personalised tutoring service that focuses on more than just academics. We aim to foster a culture of mutual success and ambition that helps prepare students for life’s challenges beyond exams. Our internal team, ages 19-23, is a group of passionate individuals ready to inspire and be inspired.
Who We’re Looking For
UI & UX Designer
Role Focus - Primary responsibility for the design of our new timesheet, login, and database system with the potential for ongoing work on our main site (tmjtutoring.com).
- Skills: Knowledge of user-centred design principles, wire-framing, prototyping, and familiarity with front-end tools.
- Technical details surrounding specific tools, such as Figma or Adobe XD, will be discussed further with successful applicants.
- Skills: Expertise in interaction design, focusing on creating engaging and user-friendly experiences.
- Skills: Proven experience in responsive design to ensure the system works seamlessly across devices.
- Skills: Strong understanding of typography selection to enhance readability and aesthetics.
Graphic Designer
Role Focus: Collaboration with the UI & UX Designer, particularly on web graphics, to create a cohesive visual experience. As aforementioned, there is also the potential for future work on our main site (tmjtutoring.com).
- Skills: Strong background in web graphics, with an eye for aesthetics that enhance usability and experience.

While we’re not asking for a replica, Notion serves as a foundational inspiration for the kind of intuitive, aesthetically pleasing, and streamlined experience we want to create. But of course, we’re always open to suggestions and innovation.
The design should follow a modern and minimalistic visual style. The project is expected to start immediately and should be completed within 1-2 months. The new timesheet system should include features for time tracking and logging. The UI & UX designer will work closely with the back-end developer, ensuring seamless integration and real-time collaboration.
