Design booklet for Church from Template and Exisitng Resources

Job ID: 36788601

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

Hello! - See note at bottom before bidding!

I'm looking for a designer to create a booklet for our church client based on existing brand assets, including logos, stock images, colors, website, etc. I have several indd files downloaded as examples of the potential style. Feel free to use them and/or build from scratch or another template. I would like to have a mockup for them in the next 24 hours.

Key skills: understanding the existing content, the goal of the booklet and how to deliver the message; using Dropbox to get existing resources, sourcing stock images if necessary.

Target audience: First-time church visitors, usually families with parents aged 20-40 and young kids

Overall goal: Encourage them to come back, become part of the church, and build relationships inside the church

Design vibe: clean, modern, inviting - great use of pictures to help people feel welcome, invited and like they could be a member of this church.

Current content: The current version is an 8.5x11 booklet that is 8 pages and very badly designed; however, the content itself is good. When resizing to half page (see specs below), I'm open to a smaller version with 8 pages and content in basically the same place or making each current page into a two page spread (ex. Page 1 = cover, Page 2-3 = content from original page 2, Page 4-5 = content from original page 3, etc.)

Design Specs: Half page vertical booklet (5.75 inches x 8.75 = full bleed size, 5.50 x 8.50 = trim size, 4.5 x 7.5 = safety area)

Design format: We use Adobe Creative Cloud, so indesign, illustrator, etc. are ok. We also use Canva for quick, online graphic design. This is our preferred format; however, others are acceptable.

NOTES FOR FREELANCERS
We've been partnering with freelance providers for over 15 years and love the relationships that can be built!

That said, we need to understand the time, energy and cost it takes for you to complete a project so we can bid on projects effectively. If you submit a low-ball bid to get our attention, expecting to ask our budget and raise your bid to the budgeted amount, we do not disclose a budget - because we don't have one!

We look at the total cost to achieve the results we need (whether it's project or hourly-based), including the time we have to invest in building and managing the relationship. To us, $100 per hour and billed for 1 hour is the same as $5 per hour and billed for 20 hours, so we don't place too much importance on either number individually.

Because we have done many of these projects, we have an understanding of how long it takes a new editor vs an experienced editor to complete a project. Our desire is to build a long-term, a mutually beneficial relationship that can continue with little management (not having to rebid each project, able to provide quick instructions/thoughts via text and video).
