Deck Planning for Entertainment
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
I'm looking for a structural engineer or architect who can help me design a deck that serves as a platform for an Airbnb on a river bank.
Key Features:
- The deck will need to accommodate hosting parties, family gatherings, outdoor cooking/BBQs, a hot tub, and holding a permanent tiny home.
- Deck will likely need to be cantilevered to allow an overhang to the river bank.
- Deck will need to be raised approximately 5 ft off ground, as it is in a flood zone.
- Footers will need to hold near river bank, in silty Ohio soil.
- I prefer the deck to be made out of wood, with steel beams as required.
- Tiny Home measures 20ft x 8 ft x 8ft. 20Ft side will need to face out toward river, so deck will need to be at least 20ft wide. See attachment.
Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in footers near waterways, deck design and planning, particularly for multi-functional use.
- Strong understanding of using wood or steel as a primary material, with concrete footers.
- Excellent communication skills to understand and incorporate my needs and preferences.
- Ability to create a design that is both practical and visually appealing.
