About Lane Automotive
Lane Automotive is a premier supplier of high-performance automotive parts and accessories, serving racers, hot rodders, truck owners, and off-road enthusiasts worldwide. As a leading distributor in the performance aftermarket industry, we are proud to be a six-time recipient of the SEMA Warehouse Distributor of the Year award.
Based in Southwest Michigan, Lane Automotive has built a strong reputation through consistent growth, innovation, and a commitment to delivering cutting-edge products. Our advanced technological infrastructure and deep industry expertise allow us to stay ahead in an increasingly competitive market.
We are driven by our people, agility, and relentless focus on performance. We foster a dynamic and rewarding environment where ambitious professionals can grow, innovate, and make a real impact.
About the Role
We are looking for a highly creative and detail-oriented Graphic Designer to support both digital and print design initiatives across the business.
This role is ideal for someone who can combine strong visual creativity with reliable execution and production discipline. You will be responsible for creating high-quality visual assets, managing design projects from concept through final output, and supporting marketing campaigns with visuals that are both brand-consistent and performance-oriented.
This is not a narrow execution-only role. We are looking for someone who can think visually, work across multiple asset types, respond quickly to feedback, and contribute ideas that improve how Lane Automotive presents itself across marketing, advertising, and branded communication touchpoints.
Engagement Details
This is a freelance / contract-based remote role open to global candidates. We are looking for someone interested in long-term collaboration, with a flexible work structure that can be project-based or hourly depending on workload and business needs.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
1. Design & Creative Production
You will create a wide range of high-quality visual assets across both digital and print formats. This includes marketing materials such as ads, banners, and social media visuals, as well as print materials such as brochures, flyers, business cards, and catalogs. You may also support branding-related work, including logos, brand kits, and other visual identity assets.
This role requires someone who can produce polished, professional work across multiple formats while maintaining strong design consistency and attention to detail.
2. Project Execution
You will manage design projects from concept to design to final delivery. That includes creating initial drafts, incorporating revisions, maintaining quality control across deliverables, and ensuring files are prepared correctly for deployment or print production.
You should be comfortable working across multiple projects at the same time, prioritizing effectively, and meeting deadlines without sacrificing quality.
3. Internal Collaboration & Creative Communication
You will work closely with internal teams to understand requirements, translate ideas into effective visual solutions, and provide thoughtful creative suggestions where appropriate. Strong communication is important in this role, because you will often need to turn broad marketing or campaign goals into assets that are visually clear, persuasive, and usable.
This role is a strong fit for someone who can take direction well, ask smart questions, and help improve outcomes through good creative judgment.
4. Performance & Design Optimization
You will apply design best practices in ways that support marketing performance, not just aesthetics. This means aligning visuals with campaign goals, thinking about layout, hierarchy, clarity, and audience response, and improving creative outputs based on feedback and results.
You should stay aware of current design trends, color use, typography direction, and evolving creative standards, while still making sure your work remains practical, on-brand, and commercially effective.
Workflow & Working Rhythm
This role follows a clear operating cadence.
Daily, you will work on active design projects, revise creatives based on feedback, and deliver assets needed for campaigns or ongoing business initiatives.
Weekly, you will coordinate with the marketing and content teams, review creative feedback and design performance where relevant, and prepare new creative directions based on business needs.
Monthly, you will help optimize design systems and reusable templates, suggest improvements based on trends or recurring feedback, and update visual guidelines when needed.
Reporting & Deliverables
You will be expected to provide regular updates on project progress and asset delivery status. This may include weekly updates, tracking completed versus pending tasks, and documenting how feedback has been incorporated when needed.
Core deliverables for this role include:
Final design files in both print and digital formats
Editable source files such as PSD, AI, and similar working files
Design variations for campaigns and testing
Visual assets ready for deployment across marketing channels
This role is expected to produce creative work that is not only visually strong, but also usable, organized, and aligned with real business needs.
How We Measure Success
Success in this role will be measured through a combination of creative quality, execution reliability, and marketing usefulness. Key metrics include:
Design quality and consistency
On-time delivery
Engagement and CTR for marketing creatives where measurable
Stakeholder satisfaction
Strong performance in this role means delivering creative work that looks good, functions well, arrives on time, and supports campaign or brand goals effectively.
Collaboration
You will work closely with:
Marketing team
Content team
Ads team
Other designers or freelancers
This role sits within a collaborative creative and marketing workflow, so success depends on both strong individual output and the ability to work smoothly with others.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone with 2+ years of experience in Graphic Design and a strong portfolio that demonstrates both print and digital work.
You should be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, and comfortable handling a wide range of creative formats. Experience with web design tools such as WordPress, Wix, or similar platforms is also valuable, especially for situations where design work overlaps with simple publishing or web-related execution.
The right candidate will have strong communication skills, solid time management, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously without losing quality or consistency.
Nice to Have
The following would be valuable, though not required:
Experience in marketing or advertising design
Basic understanding of copywriting and layout strategy
Experience working in fast-paced environments
Ability to create simple motion graphics or video assets
