Create an illustration for a travel group

Hi - I'm looking for an illustration that will be used for the cover photo of a Facebook group focused on travel. The idea is having a diverse, global group of people, diverse in culture and age, welcoming the viewer into the group. The background is a fun travel scene with interesting structures and hot air balloons. Eventually, we'd like to have the scene animated, so having good character, object and layer management in the final file will be important. They key challenge will be the ability to translate the reference style. A brief is attached.
