A Call for Design: Weaving the Future of Haiti with Tissu"
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
Tissu, French for "fabric," is an emergent urban planning and R&D practice dedicated to the strategic branding of major Haitian cities. Our core mission is to weave together the layered histories of Haitian art, architecture, and urbanism to instill civic pride, champion historic preservation, and drive sustainable growth.
We seek a minimalist, multilayered visual identity and logo that captures this spirit. The design must center on the Madan Sara—the female village weaver, known as the Black Weaver—a powerful cultural symbol. Simultaneously being the fitting metaphor for the active agents shaping the urban fabric. The Village Weaver's communal, architectural mastery—building complex, colonial, hanging nests—epitomizes the ideals of collective action, intricate urban networks, and expert craftsmanship in the built environment.
As a woman-owned organization, it is imperative that the identity subtly yet powerfully communicate female leadership and confident stewardship. We require a highly refined aesthetic utilizing a stylized female weaver, balanced compositions, and professional typography, avoiding overt or decorative tropes.
We invite your proposals to create a spare, meaningful brand that will define Tissu's role in Haiti's future.
