Book Cover Redesign
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I am in need of an expert designer to revamp the typography, graphics, and color scheme of a book cover that I am dissatisfied with.
- Look and Feel: The new design should be more illustrative, captivating readers with compelling visuals.
- Typography: The typography should be a similar style to handwritten.
- Graphics: The graphics should compliment the overall design of the cover and should be less flat and more dynamic.
- Color Scheme: As for the color scheme, I am open to a fresh perspective.
Ideal skills and experience for this project would include:
- Proven experience in graphic design, specifically with book covers.
- Advanced knowledge of typography.
- Excellent sense of visual composition and color.
- Strong understanding of visual storytelling through design.
- Ability to provide multiple iterations based on feedback.
My request is as follows:
My story is about a young lady who aspires to be a defense attorney one day. Through a series of events, she is able to assist with a local defense attorney, in high profile murder cases.
1- I would like an ariel view, kind of like from where the judge sits, looking downward.
2- I would like for 14-year-old Keirah Owens to be wearing a green dress, black leggings, purple socks, and pink converse shoes. She has what appears to be case files in her left hand, her fist tightened, and looking up at the judge with ferocity in her eyes. She has shoulder length jet-black hair and is kind of pale as she is Caucasian. She has a red ruby brooch around her neck that her parents gave her as a gift.
3- Her mentor, Defense Attorney Terry Gallagher is 54 years old, and standing next to her. He is in the typical light brown lawyer suit with an orange tie. He is balding on the top of his head, with brown hair on the sides, and wears glasses. He has a muscular build as well. He is also Caucasian. He is fumbling around looking through an open case file and looks clumsy and confused.
4- These two are on the right side of the cover, as typically the side for the defense team. Keirah comes up to about chest level with Terry, who I would say is roughly 6 feet 3 inches.
5: On the opposite sides are two prosecutors, Barbra Doe and Red Bauchman. Barbra is in skinny jeans with a plaid sweater, and fake cowgirl boots. She has long red curly hair and comes up to the shoulders of Red. She has a cowgirl hat, is a bit heavy, and is 25 years old. She is looking over at Keirah and Terry with a look of anger on her face.
6- Red is in a black tailored suit and looks like a "goth". He is mid 30s and has a pale complexion. His hair is slicked back like the guys in the movie Grease and has a notebook with red check marks in one hand, as he has his other hand in his opposite pocket.
7- In the background is the audience. I would like for some to be looking angry, shocked at evidence revealed, and whispering back and forth with each other.
Thank you so much for taking on this project. Attached is the photo I received when I first needed this done. The person who drew it is very talented, it just isn't something I would place on my first book being published. I feel like he illustrated the adults correctly, but I need for them to look sharper. As for Keirah, I need her illustration done some justice.
As for the book title, I trust the illustrator to place it where it fits best. The book is called,
