An Asian inspired brand identity for a line of T-shirts
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I am looking for a talented designer to create an Asian inspired brand identity for my line of T-shirt streetwear. The ideal style for the brand identity is modern, with a touch of Asian influence.
Key points:
- The brand identity should be modern and contemporary, while still incorporating elements of Asian culture.
- I have a general idea of the colors and symbols I would like to be incorporated into the design, but I am open to suggestions from the designer.
- The target market for the T-shirts is all age groups, so the brand identity should appeal to a wide range of people.
Skills and experience required:
- Strong design skills, with a good understanding of Asian culture and aesthetics.
- Experience in creating modern and contemporary brand identities.
- Ability to create designs that appeal to a wide range of age groups.
If you are a talented designer with a passion for Asian culture and a knack for modern design, I would love to hear from you. Please provide samples of your previous work that demonstrate your ability to create brand identities that are both modern and culturally inspired.
Additional background:
I was recently at a local event, SJ made and am an Asian American with parents from China and Hawaii. I believe that there is a space for an Asian-themed brand.
To share more, from a Chinese perspective, many only see Asian culture as Chinese takeout food or Chinese symbols. I view the opportunity to expand my cultural perspective by sharing sayings, symbols, culture, and other known entities in a fun and fresh way.
I like the style and direction of Sumofish (Japanese/Hawaiian) where they show items/designs like sushi, koi, spam, etc in a modern style and element to it. They take a simple cultural symbol and turn it into an art inspired design. An example of this might be a Chinese take out box, use of a Dragon, the Chinese Lunar New Year calendar, dim sum or an icon like Bruce Lee. In the end, I am looking for this formula.
One focus/cultural element that is designed/expressed in a modern way.
I would like to connect with a designer that can create a brand look and identity that plays off of the Chinese Zodiac calendar, dragon symbols, dim sum, etc. My goal is to build with initially Asian: Chinese designs but expand to other Asian traits I have in my family…Filipino, Hawaiian, etc.
The designs will be professionally printed on T-shirts and sweatshirts. The initially established look and feel will carry onto a number of designs….and the plan would be to go to market as a short run drop.
I am self-financed and a marketing professional with friends who’ve started core brands like Savs and Project X so I am hopeful to solicit their help in establishing a new brand but starting with a design/brand look and feel. In the end, I'd like to start with the Brand look and feel and would like to progress to discussing initial designs with the goal of having a drop a month.
