Academic Research PDF Formatting -- 2

Job ID: 39927009

Budget: €750 – €1,500 EUR

I have a ~11,000-word research manuscript ready in a plain document and now want to present it as a polished, academic-style book. The end product I need from you is a professionally laid-out PDF that reads—and looks—like a small scholarly volume.

Because this is for an academic audience, the design should follow established conventions: clean typography, clear hierarchy of headings, consistently styled citations, and well-considered margins and line spacing. Please build an automatic Table of Contents that updates correctly if pagination changes later.

I haven’t fixed any specific font or template, so feel free to suggest a pairing that suits research material—classics such as Garamond or Cambria work well, but I’m open to your expertise. Above all, ensure readability in both print and screen formats.

Deliverables
• Print-ready, high-resolution PDF with front matter, ToC, numbered pages, and my content laid out cleanly
• Source file (InDesign, Affinity Publisher, or Word) so I can make future edits if needed

Acceptance criteria
• Consistent styles applied throughout (headings, body text, block quotes, captions)
• Dynamic Table of Contents accurately linked to page numbers
• No widows, orphans, or spacing anomalies across 100% of pages

If this sounds straightforward to you and you have a keen eye for scholarly layout, I’d love to see samples of similar work and get started.
