38 Abstract B&W Poem Illustrations
Budget: $750 – $1,500 AUD
My poetry book is heading to print and the only piece still missing is the imagery. I require thirty-eight black-and-white illustrations, one per poem, all sharing the same abstract countryside-trail backdrop. The twist is simple: on each successive page a couple strolls along that path, and the girl grows slightly taller, symbolising the arc of the collection.
The look I have in mind is abstract rather than photoreal, yet the figures shouldn’t be faceless blobs—moderately detailed silhouettes that suggest emotion without over-rendering will be perfect. You are free to work in CGI, vector, or any other digital medium so long as the final artwork is crisp and consistent across every page.
Deliverables
• 38 print-ready images in monochrome, 300 dpi, sized to my trim (I’ll send the exact dimensions).
• Source files (PSD, AI, or Blender/FBX) so the publisher can make any last-minute layout tweaks.
• A preview PDF for quick review.
I have already lost time with two artists who couldn’t commit, so reliable communication and clear milestones matter more to me than speed. If you can share one or two portfolio pieces that show a similar abstract, black-and-white treatment, that will help us lock this in quickly. Minor revisions are expected; sweeping stylistic changes won’t be necessary once we agree on the base scene and the character proportion guide.
Let’s bring these poems to life in a way that feels timeless, unified, and quietly evocative.
