Valley Wings
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
Start up nonprofit looking for grant funding just received IRS tax exempt status. Looking for US based grant writer with experience with construction or Aviation grants.
Valley Wings over view:
Valley wings was founded as a nonprofit by Scott Allison in 2020. The main goal is to offer aviation-based training and education to rural Wyoming Residents and High School Students using the STEM method of teaching at little or no cost.
Wyoming's main industry involves oil and gas and any down turn in that would cause a major hardship for residents in rural areas especially in Carbon County. Valley Wings would like to offer flight training or an introduction into airframe and power plant maintenance to those that are unemployed or under employed. This skillset would provide an opportunity to gain a valued and needed skill to fill foreseeable job vacancies in the aviation sector and create jobs locally in Carbon County and Wyoming.
About the founder:
Scott Allison had a dream of flying since childhood. He started his flight training in 1992, the same year he started his Law Enforcement career. With a desire to help others and a strong commitment to community through teaching, mentoring and volunteering Valley Wings was born. After 28 years he retired from Law Enforcement and is advancing his flight training to the level of Commercial Pilot and a Certified Flight Instructor in an effort to still give back to his community through a love for aviation.
It is his personal hope that aviation science and flight ground school can be taught in the Carbon County School System for grades 9-12, that those students who are interested in obtaining a Pilot License can do so with no cost. Giving students the desire to stay in school. Teaching responsibility, mentoring and showing compassion to others.
I am looking for grants to build a training facility and equipment needed to teach aviation programs.
