Tree Service Grant Writer
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
Our tree company, Skylake Tree Service, deploys crews alongside Cal Fire on active wildfires and post-fire mitigation projects. To keep pace with the growing demand for our work, I need an experienced grant writer who can secure funding that covers both new equipment (chippers, saws, safety gear, fleet upgrades) and day-to-day operational costs such as training, fuel, and payroll support.
What I need from you
• Research and identify the best-fit federal, state, and private programs—not just Cal Fire initiatives but any opportunity that supports wildfire response, vegetation management, or small-business resiliency.
• Develop a calendar of upcoming deadlines, eligibility notes, and award ranges so we can target the most promising grants first.
• Prepare polished, data-driven proposals that tell our story, highlight our partnership history with Cal Fire, quantify our impact on public safety, and meet each funder’s technical requirements.
• Package all supporting documents (narratives, budgets, forms, attachments) so every submission is 100 % compliant and ready to send.
Acceptance criteria
1. A minimum of three viable grant opportunities delivered in a ranked summary.
2. One complete, submission-ready application for the highest-value opportunity, plus templated language we can reuse for the others.
3. Clear guidance on any additional information or documentation we must supply on our end.
