Mission-Driven Virtual Assistant (10 Hours/Week)
Company: Penniless Peace Project / Church Entity
Location: Remote (Targeting US Hours; Owner is based in Oregon, PST)
Hours: 10 hours per week to start (with potential to grow)
Compensation: [Insert Hourly Rate / Performance Bonuses if applicable]
About Us
We are a mission-driven church entity dedicated to creating "Harmonious Habitats"—thriving, sober, permaculture eco-villages that provide free housing and food for those in need. Our strategy blends creative real estate (seller financing/creative finance), community-focused festivals, and digital outreach to fund and secure land and housing. We are looking for a versatile, proactive, and values-aligned Virtual Assistant to help us build this vision from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
Because this is a 10-hour-per-week role, tasks will be prioritized dynamically each week. Your responsibilities will span across the following core areas:
1. Creative Real Estate & Deal Sourcing
Lead Generation: Source properties on Zillow under $10,000 in the Pittsburgh market.
Outreach & Negotiation: Contact agents and sellers to inquire about creative financing (Seller Financing, Subject-To) utilizing Pace Morby, Richard Taylor, and Gator Method styles.
Contract Management: Assist in securing and tracking property contracts.
Contractor Relations: Use Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, and local groups to build a network of reliable contractors and laborers in Pittsburgh.
2. Event Coordination & Vendor Management
Venue Sourcing: Research and email fairgrounds and event spaces across the US (with a focus on accessibility from Oregon) to book monthly 2-to-3-day community festivals.
Vendor Outreach: Advertise for and manage vendor submissions (via peaceiswithin.org); follow up with applicants via phone/email to lock in vending spots.
Talent Tracking: Help coordinate logistics for events aimed at scaling up to major acts (e.g., Mike Love, Hobo Johnson).
3. Grant Writing, Fundraising & Marketing
Grant Research: Identify federal, state, and private grants that our church entity qualifies for.
Drafting & Submission: Assist in writing and submitting grant applications and fundraising proposals.
Email Marketing: Build and maintain our lead email list; draft and send out a weekly community update newsletter.
4. Creative Content & Tech Support (As Needed)
Canva Design: Utilize our Canva Pro team account to help design and format church assets, journals, books, and children’s activity/coloring books.
App Beta Testing: Participate in basic QA/beta testing for our Google Play app uploads to help meet the required 10-user testing threshold.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience in Creative Real Estate: Familiarity with creative finance strategies (Sub-To, Seller Financing) and tools like Zillow/PropStream is highly preferred.
Strong Communication: Excellent written and verbal English skills for cold outreach to real estate agents, event venues, and vendors.
Highly Organized: Ability to maximize 10 hours a week by managing time efficiently across multiple distinct projects.
Tech Savvy: Familiarity with Canva, email marketing platforms, Google Workspace, and basic app testing.
Alignment with the Mission: Passionate about community building, sober living, sustainability, permaculture, and charitable work.
