Grant Writer for Adaptive Boxing Gym

Job ID: 40484239

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I operate a 501(c)(3) boxing gym that tailors non-contact, therapeutic boxing sessions for seniors as well as people living with dementia, autism, and other behavioral or developmental challenges. Demand for our classes keeps growing, and we also need to replace worn bags, gloves, and balance equipment with models better suited to our clients’ abilities. To move from small fundraisers to meaningful, sustainable support, I want to secure Health and Wellness grants offered by government agencies at the city, state, and federal levels.

Because we have never received grant funding before, you will be building everything from the ground up—capturing our origin story, quantifying the clinical and social benefits of adaptive boxing, detailing program outcomes, and translating equipment needs into a compelling budget narrative that resonates with public-sector reviewers. Familiarity with evidence-based language around fall prevention, neuroplasticity, and quality-of-life metrics will be extremely helpful.

Deliverables
• Master grant narrative (8–10 pages) that can be tailored to multiple government Health & Wellness solicitations
• Detailed, spreadsheet-based budget covering adaptive equipment, instructor hours, and participant subsidies
• A concise set of boilerplate documents—mission, board list, logic model, letters of support templates—that I can reuse
• Two complete, submission-ready application packages for targeted government opportunities, including all required forms and attachments

Acceptance criteria: narrative clearly links adaptive boxing to measurable health outcomes; budget aligns with federal cost principles; all attachments meet formatting rules of the chosen agencies; files delivered in both Word and PDF.

Timeline is flexible within reason, but I would like the first draft of the core narrative and budget within three weeks so we can meet an upcoming state deadline.

If you have a record of winning Health & Wellness grants for community fitness or therapy programs, I’d be excited to read your samples and plan the next steps.
