Federal Grant Writer for Non-Profit Educational Organization
Budget: $30 – $100 USD

Each year, IEG takes its proceeds and invests in the youth through scholarships to financially challenged students, so that they have the opportunity to attend our official programs at our partner institutions, which include Harvard, Brown, Stanford, Caltech, and more.
The mission of IEG Scholarship is to maximize every student’s potential and ensure that each one graduates with every opportunity for success, in hopes of building a promising future for the next generations around the globe. We help bright young students from economically disadvantaged families receive quality-learning opportunities that prepare them with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in their communities.
Position Summary:
The Grant Writer oversees the process and production of all materials related to the grant application process from identifying and qualifying prospects, to writing proposals and reports, to collecting data, budgets, and all relevant documents from a variety of departments. Additionally, s/he reports to the Project Manager with guidance from the Chief Executive Officer and ensures alignment with IEG’s overall mission and goals.
Responsibilities:
- Responsibility for researching, writing, compiling, and managing the timeline of all grants including maintenance and oversight of workflow processes.
- Write grant applications and all reports and conduct prospect research on new opportunities that align with IEG’s mission. Grant writing will be primarily to Federal grants.
- Work with all departments to collect and synthesize data. Oversee grant workflow processes related to data entry to ensure adequate internal controls and that all grants reporting of data is accurate.
- Facilitate with multiple departments and staff to ensure all activities related to grant data collection and reporting are smoothly implemented.
- Ensure compliance with IRS regulations and Foundations’ requirements for grants.
- Work closely with the Project Manager and Chief Executive Officer to respond to requests for reports, collaterals, and grant-related materials with a strategic perspective.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years previous experience as a grant writer in the educational field or in federal proposal writing.
- Commitment to IEG’s mission.
- Excellent writing ability.
- Ability to write for various parties including Foundations, donors, and broader general constituencies.
- Comfortable with data management and administration.
