Brooklyn Housing Grant Proposal Writer
Budget: $100,000 – $0 USD
I run a 501(c)(3) nonprofit preparing a supportive housing development in Brooklyn designed for low-income families. The building is in the pre-construction phase, and I now need a seasoned grant writer who can translate our architectural plans and community impact data into compelling, fundable proposals.
Your role will be comprehensive:
• Identify and prioritize federal, state, city, and private foundation opportunities that align with supportive housing for low-income families.
• Craft a grant calendar and funding strategy that covers capital, operational, and supportive-service needs.
• Develop a full proposal package—narrative, budget, logic model, and all required attachments—ready for immediate submission to at least one major funder.
• Coordinate with our architect, legal counsel, and community partners to gather letters of support, demographic statistics, and compliance documents.
• Refine each application through one revision round based on my feedback to maximize competitiveness.
Success means a polished, submission-ready grant application and a clear roadmap for additional funding rounds. Experience securing HUD, NYS HCR, or similar housing grants is strongly preferred; knowledge of CDBG, HOME, or Low-Income Housing Tax Credits will be a plus. Strong command of data storytelling, compliance language, and tight deadlines is essential.
