Location-Based MVP Mobile Game Development [IOS/ANROID]
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
We are building an MVP location-based mobile game inspired by Atlas Earth / Atlas World, with a simple top-down visual style similar to Pokémon Red.
Players begin on a basic map starting in Washington, DC, with the world divided into land tiles—one free tile at signup and additional tiles purchasable for $1.00 each. Players can spawn either at their real-world GPS location or on land they own that has been set as a spawn point, and they are hidden by default, choosing when to appear on the map. Movement works similarly to Pokémon Go, using either GPS walking or manual joystick/finger movement, both limited to normal walking speed. Core MVP features include viewing the map and owned land, seeing other visible nearby players, local proximity-based chat, a simple interaction mini-game such as tic-tac-toe, and small public player profiles showing basic information and land ownership.
Avatars are minimal at launch, with generic bodies, basic clothing, and a limited set of hairstyles. Admin accounts must be able to spawn anywhere, move freely, and manage the world. Future phases (not required for the initial MVP) will expand travel systems with faster movement modes such as bikes, cars, boats, and planes, unlock new regions beyond the starting area, expand land usage with larger buildings and features, improve avatar customization, and introduce more advanced social and world interaction systems.
