DWF Utility Overlay Mapping
Budget: $250 – $750 AUD
I have a Dial Before You Dig DWF file for a site in Western Australia that carries water-pipe, electrical-cable and gas-line information, all referenced in MGA94 Zone 50. Your task is to pull those layers out of the DWF, georeference them precisely and lay them over recent satellite imagery of the same location so the final map reads like a single, native GIS product.
Accuracy is critical: the overlay must sit exactly on the supplied GPS markers and hold scale across the whole extent of the drawing. Every water, electricity and gas feature needs its own clear label, together with the original GPS coordinate labels and the legend/key that already lives inside the DWF.
Deliverables
• A fully georeferenced overlay (GeoTIFF, SHP, or DWG—whichever best preserves accuracy) showing the utilities on satellite imagery.
• A high-resolution PDF/PNG for quick viewing and printing.
• All working project files so I can reopen and edit the layers later in QGIS, AutoCAD or similar.
Acceptance criteria
• Visual alignment with satellite control points is tight and consistent across the map.
• All utility type labels, GPS coordinate labels and original DWF legend items are intact and readable at print scale.
• Output coordinates remain in MGA94 Zone 50 with no unintended reprojection.
