Rectifying Singaporeu Traffic in US Attorney Site

Job ID: 40388242

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I recently redesigned a template type site that was idle for years on a 25 year old domain for attorneys As I progress finishing up the site my analytics is showing a majority of the traffic is coming from Singapore. I would suspect the page that was idle for years was mostly bots visiting the idle template. So according my AI I need to his this completed to eliminate a majority of Singapore traffic and focus on the U.S. where that site does get decent U.S. traffic already. I need someone to go into my analytics/backend of the site and do what needs to be done to rectify this issue. Some things will need to be adjusted in Google analytics and some in the backend of the site Budget will be given to the person who has a solid understanding on exactly what needs to be done and executed in a timely manner. This will lead to future work if completed properly.

Why You’re Getting Singapore Traffic
1. Bot / Low-Quality Traffic (Very Common)

A large percentage of “Singapore traffic” is often:

Crawlers, scrapers, or spam bots
Low-cost traffic from click farms
Referral spam hitting analytics

Clue: High bounce rate, low time on site, no conversions.

2. Poor Geo Signals to Google

If your site doesn’t clearly scream “USA / Michigan,” Google may:

Rank you globally instead of locally
Show your site in irrelevant regions

Missing signals often include:

No strong location pages
No Google Business Profile tie-in
Weak local schema markup
3. Backlinks from Foreign Domains

If you’ve ever:

Bought backlinks
Used cheap SEO services
Been listed on international directories

You may have backlinks from:

.sg (Singapore)
.in (India)
.pk, etc.

Google then associates your site with those regions.

4. Hosting / CDN Location

If your server or CDN routing is outside the U.S., it can:

Slightly influence geo relevance
Attract more international crawl traffic

(Not the main cause—but contributes)

5. Broad / Non-Localized Keywords

If your content targets things like:

“attorney directory”
“find a lawyer”

…without U.S. modifiers, you’ll get global impressions.

How to Fix It (This is What You Should Do)
1. Filter Out Bot Traffic (Immediate Fix)

In Google Analytics:

Enable bot filtering
Exclude suspicious countries if needed
Check:
0–3 second sessions
100% bounce users
2. Add Strong U.S. Location Signals (Critical)

Update your site to emphasize:

“United States Attorneys”
“Michigan Attorney Directory”
“Find U.S. Lawyers Near You”

Create pages like:

/michigan-attorneys/
/detroit-personal-injury-lawyers/
/usa-attorney-directory/
3. Use Local SEO Structure

Add:

Schema markup (LocalBusiness / LegalService)
Your business address (Michigan-based)
U.S. phone number (you already have this—good)
4. Google Search Console Geo Targeting

In Search Console:

Set target country = United States
Submit a sitemap focused on U.S. pages
5. Clean Up Backlinks

Use tools like:

Ahrefs
SEMrush

Look for:

Spammy foreign backlinks

Then:

Disavow low-quality domains
6. Create U.S.-Focused Content (Big Impact)

Write articles like:

“Best Personal Injury Attorneys in Michigan”
“How to Find a Lawyer in the United States”
“Top U.S. Bankruptcy Attorneys by State”

This trains Google to serve U.S. users.

7. Get U.S. Traffic Sources

Focus on:

Facebook ads targeting Michigan / U.S.
Google Ads (location-targeted)
Local business listings
Legal directories (U.S.-based)
8. Add Internal Linking by Location

Structure your site like:

Homepage → State → City → Practice Area

Example:
AttorneyFee.com → Michigan → Detroit → Personal Injury

Quick Reality Check

If your Singapore traffic:

Doesn’t convert → ignore or filter it
Is high volume → likely bots or bad backlinks

Your goal isn’t just traffic—it’s qualified U.S. leads.

Bottom Line

Right now, Google likely sees your site as:

“Generic legal directory (global)”

You need to reposition it as:

“U.S.-focused attorney directory (Michigan-first)”
