Adult Site Canonical SEO Overhaul

I run a large adult WordPress directory site with thousands of city pages. We recently changed URL structure and I’m seeing technical SEO issues in the <head> such as incorrect canonicals and rel="next" / pagination pointing to an old URL version (state-folder path). I need an experienced WordPress dev who understands Yoast + technical SEO to make the site output ONE correct primary URL version everywhere.
Main goals:
Fix canonical tags so they always match the correct primary URL structure (no duplicate URL versions).
Fix pagination URLs (rel=next/prev, /page/2/) so they follow the correct base URL version.
Ensure old URL versions 301 redirect to the new primary version (no 200/indexable duplicates).
Confirm internal links/site output is consistent (Yoast OG/Twitter URL should match primary too).
Provide a quick validation checklist (what to test + examples).
Deliverables:
Working fix on staging or live (depending on your workflow)
Exact explanation of what changed (plugin settings vs theme functions vs filters)
