Steel Shed House Facade Concepts
Budget: $250 – $750 AUD
I’m finalising a 9 × 9 m steel-framed shed house kit and I need two to three distinct facade concepts that will help potential buyers picture the home as a comfortable residential space. The structural shell is already fixed; what I’m after is a creative interpretation of the front and side elevations—materials, openings, proportions, colour ways, and any subtle detailing that adds character without blowing out construction costs.
Architectural style is open-ended. I’m happy to see modern, traditional, industrial, or an inspired blend if it suits the brief. Because the building will be sold as a turnkey kit, each proposal must be build-able with standard Australian materials and fasteners.
Key points you’ll work with
• Base footprint: 9 m × 9 m, single storey, steel portal frame
• Primary use: full-time residential living
• Façade goals: solid weather protection, visual warmth, street appeal, and coherence with the steel superstructure
• Reference document (site plan, elevations, specs):

Deliverables
1. Two to three facade concepts presented as:
– Scaled front and side elevations (PDF + native file)
– A rendered perspective or mood board that shows intended materials/colours
2. A concise material palette with readily available claddings, window systems, and roofing profiles
3. Short design rationale explaining how the concept balances aesthetics, cost, and ease of assembly
Acceptance criteria
• Concepts clearly align with the 9 × 9 m structural grid and do not alter the primary steel frame
• External finishes are specified with real-world products available in Australia
• Final files arrive print-ready at A3 and include editable source files (Revit, Archicad, or SketchUp is fine)
If you have a question about constraints, material options, or the kit construction sequence, let me know early so we can keep momentum. I look forward to seeing your ideas transform this simple steel shell into a home buyers will love.
