Revit to SketchUp Conversion Specialist
Budget: $25 – $50 AUD
Contract Role – SketchUp Conversion & Product Library Lead
Project: MAXe Gondola Shelving System
Contract Length: 8–12 weeks (potential extension)
Location: Remote / Hybrid (Australia preferred)
Project Overview
We currently use Autodesk Revit to produce 2D floor plans, elevations and basic 3D visuals of our configurable MAXe retail gondola shelving system. Revit exceeds our functional needs and limits usability for internal staff. We are transitioning to SketchUp as our primary design tool and require an experienced contractor to lead this conversion.
Role Objective
Convert existing Revit-based drawings and models into a structured, efficient SketchUp workflow, including the creation of a complete, reusable component library covering approximately 311 unique system parts (excluding colour variants).
Key Responsibilities
• Convert or rebuild Revit models into clean, accurate SketchUp geometry
• Create and organise a modular SketchUp component library for all MAXe parts
• Apply best-practice component structure, tagging, scaling and performance optimisation
• Ensure components assemble logically for fast customer layout creation
• Produce sample floor plans, elevations and 3D layouts using the new system
• Document workflows and standards for internal staff use
Required Experience
• Strong professional experience with SketchUp Pro
• Proven ability to build large, reusable component libraries
• Understanding of architectural or retail layout drawings
• Ability to interpret Revit files and technical drawings
• High attention to detail and system-based thinking
Project Outcome
Internal staff can quickly produce accurate customer layouts using SketchUp without specialist CAD skills, eliminating reliance on Revit for day-to-day sales and design work.
