Google Sheets VLOOKUP & Replace

I have a Google Sheets file where I need formulas put in place:
1. A VLOOKUP (or INDEX-MATCH if you prefer) that combines data pulled from several source sheets into one summary sheet.
2. A find-and-replace formula that cleans both text and numerical entries in bulk.
