Google Sheets Formula Specialist
Budget: $10 – $30 CAD
My main finance tracker in Google Sheets has started throwing inconsistent results and I can’t pin down why. The spreadsheet carries a mix of raw transactional data, calculated summaries, and colour-coded indicators for cash-flow health. Right now:
• Existing formulas regularly return #REF! and #VALUE! errors.
• Data validation rules aren’t stopping out-of-range figures from being entered.
• Conditional formatting that should highlight negative balances sometimes disappears.
Rather than patch what is there, I want fresh, reliable formulas designed from the ground up. Once the core logic is rebuilt I also need every validation rule and conditional format to align with the new calculations so the sheet stays clean over time.
Deliverables I’ll review for sign-off:
• A working copy of the sheet with newly created formulas that calculate totals, averages, and variance without errors.
• Re-implemented data validation that blocks any entry outside predefined financial limits.
• Conditional formats that consistently highlight negative values, upcoming due dates, and anomalies.
• A short note or inline comments explaining each key formula for future reference.
Everything must function inside standard Google Sheets—no Apps Script required at this stage—so familiarity with ARRAYFORMULA, QUERY, FILTER, REGEX, and similar native tools is critical. If you’ve built or rescued financial models before, you’ll move to the front of the line.
