Google Sheets Expense Auditor

I need a clean, easy-to-use Google Sheets template that lets me record every personal purchase I make during the day, add the amount, and instantly see the total spent for that calendar date. I am not looking for predefined categories; a simple daily total at a glance is all I need.

Here is what I have in mind:
• One entry sheet where I can type the date, a brief note (e.g., “coffee” or “bus fare”), and the amount spent.
• Automatic formulas that roll each line-item up into a running total for the day.
• A separate summary view that shows daily totals for the month and a quick monthly grand total, so I can see spending patterns without diving into categories.
• Built-in protection against accidental formula overwrites and a quick-reset option to start a new month while archiving the old data.

Please set the file up entirely in Google Sheets—no add-ons—so I can open it in my Drive and start entering numbers right away. A short Loom or text walkthrough of how to extend the sheet to future months would be appreciated.
