Google Sheets Automation via App Scripts

We have a Google Sheet containing data for 30 students, structured as follows:
Column 1: Roll Number
Column 2: Name
Column 3: Date 1
Column 4: Date 2
Column 5 and onward: Additional date columns (initially blank, to be filled later in DD-MM-YYYY format)
Final Column (after some blank columns): "Attendance Percentage" which calculates the percentage of days a student was present.
The data entries start from the fourth row. This sheet will be shared with students via a link, allowing them to mark their attendance by entering "P" for present on the respective date column.
Task Requirements
We require a Google Apps Script to implement the following functionalities:
Sheet Protection: Protect the entire Google Sheet from being edited by students.
Allow editing only in the column corresponding to the "Current Date" so students can mark their attendance.
Urgency: This task is urgent and needs to be completed within 5-6 hours.
Engagement: This one-time task is suitable for individuals experienced in Google Sheets scripting.
The solution should be efficient and not require frequent manual updates.
