Google Sheets Automation Consultant & Tutor for E-commerce Workflow Customisation & Knowledge Transfer
About Our Project and Goals
We are an established e-commerce business owner looking for a long-term partnership with a Google Apps Script (GAS) expert. We run many parts of our operation on Google Workspace (Sheets, Forms, Gmail) and need automation to scale efficiently.
The core challenge: I am the owner (age 65) and, while proficient with general office applications, I am not a software developer. I have had poor experiences with consultants who simply delivered solutions which did not suit the requirement and were not customisable as required
Your Primary Role is Not Just Coding—It is Teaching.
We are looking for a true Consultant & Tutor who is committed to knowledge transfer and ensuring my self-sufficiency.
Our Engagement Model: Build and Learn (50/50)
We need an expert willing to work directly with me on my active projects under the following collaborative split:
50% Building/Debugging: Writing, optimising, and implementing the required Google Apps Scripts to solve a workflow problem (e.g., automated reporting, inventory alerts, custom forms).
50% Explaining/Mentoring: Explaining the code, logic, object models, and debugging techniques in clear, non-technical terms so I can understand, maintain, and eventually modify the scripts myself.
The goal is that every project we complete together will empower me to tackle the next one. This will be a long-term association, as every solved problem will reveal new possibilities for automation.
Specific Requirements & Logistics
Technology: Google Apps Script, Google Sheets, Gmail API, and Google Forms.
Work Style: Online is preferred, but we are open to discussing in-person options if local.
Time Commitment: Approximately three (3) one-hour sessions per week, ideally scheduled between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM IST. We are open to adjusting the time and frequency for the right candidate.
We are based in Adyar, Chennai ( during office hours ) or Thirvanmayur, Chennai ( after office hours )
We are looking at a long term continued relationship since each customisation and automation will lead to another
