I am looking for a skilled Excel or Google Sheets expert to build a clean, automated dashboard to track our DOT inspection data. The goal is to turn our routine inspection reports into a professional visual presentation that helps us improve our FMCSA safety scores. This is a straightforward project for someone comfortable with Pivot Tables, Slicers, and basic data visualization.
1. Data Structure (The Setup)
The tool needs a "Raw Data" tab where I can simply paste my inspection exports. The dashboard should then automatically categorize and filter by:
Units: Unit 1 (Tractor), Unit 2 (Trailer), and Unit D (Dolly).
Personnel: Driver Name and Driver ID.
Geography: State and City.
Violation Categories: Unsafe Driving, HOS Compliance, Vehicle Maintenance, and Driver Fitness.
2. Visuals & KPIs (The Dashboard)
I need a "Presentation-Ready" tab that updates automatically with:
Performance Metrics: Clean Inspection %, OOS (Out-of-Service) Rate, and Total Points.
Violation Breakdown: A simple pie chart showing the % of violations by category.
State Analysis: A bar chart or heat map showing which States have our highest inspection volume and OOS counts.
Interactive Slicers: Easy-to-use buttons to filter the entire dashboard by Date, Driver, or Unit Number.
The "Top 10" Lists: Automated tables showing our most frequent violations and highest-risk units/drivers.
3. Simple SOP Logic
Add a "Status" column that automatically flags inspections based on severity:
Clean/Low Points: "Good Standing / Reward"
Medium Points: "Coaching Required"
High Points/OOS: "Immediate Retraining"
4. Deliverables
An easy-to-use Excel or Google Sheets file.
Professional formatting (Clean, modern corporate look).
A quick "How-To" note on how to refresh the data each month.
