Color-Coded Google Sheets Calendar
Budget: $15 – $25 CAD
I keep all of my events in a single Google-Sheets tab (columns: Date, Event Title, and a simple Type field). What I’m missing is a second tab that turns that raw list into a polished month-at-a-glance calendar.
Here’s what I need built:
• A true monthly grid (Sun-Sat) that expands or collapses for any month I pick from a drop-down.
• Every date square must pull in every matching event automatically; no manual copy-paste.
• Events should appear as colour-coded entries so I can instantly tell workshops from meetings, etc. A clear legend or a helper table where I can adjust the colours myself would be ideal.
• When I add, edit, or delete rows in the source sheet the calendar should refresh on its own. If you can accomplish this strictly with formulas and conditional formatting, great; if a tiny Apps Script snippet makes it cleaner, I’m open.
Deliverables
1. A reusable template with the source sheet and calendar tab already wired together.
2. Built-in controls for changing the displayed month.
3. Conditional formatting rules (or script) that handle the colour logic.
4. A brief set of instructions so I can duplicate the file and update the colour legend without breaking anything.
